"In the
course of my numerous wanderings, I have seen how travel has informed
and empowered my life as well as the lives of my fellow travelers. I
have witnessed the nature and extent of travel's positive power, the
magnitude of its enriching and healing capabilities. Beyond its refreshing
and revitalizing qualities, travel has the unmatched capacity to be
a wellspring of self-discovery and personal growth, a path to ourselves."

from The Power of Travel: a passport to adventure, discovery and
growth by Steve Zikman)
Central
Italy (Tuscany, Umbria, Latium)
I have been fortunate enough to have traveled a couple of times to central
Italy: once during my art school undergraduate study, and once in 1999
with friends from the Georgia Tech College of Architecture. I hope to
travel (and perhaps even work) there again very soon! The ancient ruins
of bella Roma, the Late Gothic splendors of Sienna, and the artistic wonders
of Renaissance Firenze (Florence), among many other cities, inspire my
creativity more than any other region I've visited to date.
Georgia Renaissance Festival
Sometimes one does not have to "travel" far to have adventure. In
the Spring of 2000, I made a first visit, with my good friend Robert
and his sister Robin, to the Georgia Renaissance Festival. During
this day full of laughter and play we enjoyed many interesting sights,
including big cats, plump wenches, brave (and bad!) knights, and
dirty puppets.
