In all aspects of my life,
I am guided by my own personal muses, on a journey that has allowed
me to explore many media and disciplines. Regardless of what media
were used to create it, all of my work shares one characteristic:
a passion for creativity.
The work represented in
this area is organized primarily by medium with chronological listings
of major projects that have been completed in recent years. The
work ranges from research to design
for corporate, non-profit, governmental and educational clients
(including The Coca-Cola Company, Destination
Hotels & Resorts, Georgia Tech, IBM Corporation, New York Times,
Penn State University, PBS Online, and the U.S. Department of Education),
producing usable and well-designed products in a variety of media
including web, multimedia,
video and print. These
experiences have allowed me to play a variety of roles
and become expertly
skilled in the areas of information architecture, interaction
design, usability evaluation, and designing for universal accessibility.
My work was significantly
impacted by my completion of the Georgia Tech Information Design
& Technology (IDT) graduate program in 1998. This interdisciplinary
program blends cultural studies (theory) with the practice of creating
multi-mediated artifacts (production). During my graduate studies,
I completed coursework in the areas of: cultural and communication
studies; educational philosophies and technologies; use of technology
in the arts and in museums; hypermedia design methodologies; naturalistic
(ethnographic) systems planning methods; HTML/Javascript/CGI and
Web architecture; multimedia design; and analog/digital video production.
