I studied video production in both undergraduate and graduate school, developing skills which complement my interactive design skills. Although I have not been formally employed as a video producer, I have utilized these skills in production for public access television, videoconferences, and digital video.


Tech Connections Satellite Training Videoconference (2000)Tech Connections

Client: United Cerebral Palsy Association (UCPA)/S.E. Disability & Business Technical Assistance Center (SE-DBTAC)/Georgia Tech Center for Rehabilitation Technology, Atlanta, GA. Contract with the U.S. Department of Education, National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). TechConnections is a national dissemination project designed to increase the utilization of existing and emerging assistive technology by State Vocational Rehabilitation programs, Employment Specialists, Employers, and anyone interested in getting assistive technology into the hands individuals with disabilities.

Roles: Requirements Analysis and User Research, Media Design and Production, Digital Video Editing and Production (Media100), and Live Broadcast Graphics Load.

Summary: This national satellite videoconference was the first in a series being produced by the TechConnections Project, whose goal is to provide current information on assistive technology via an information center, Web site, and training programs. This 2-hour long videoconference included over 100 B-Roll graphics, extensive studio props, 2 pre-edited video segments, a panel of vocational rehabilitation experts, and a live call-in portion. It was produced at the facilities of WPBA TV30 Public Broadcasting Atlanta.


Adult Basic Education Supplemental Series

Client: State of Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education, Atlanta, GA. This series, designed to support full-time literacy teachers throughout the State of Georgia, replaced the award-winning Georgia Tech Satellite Literacy Program (GTSLP). The GTSLP ran from 1989 to 1997, and was comprised of distance learning courses via a live interactive satellite broadcast at nearly 100 sites, and addressed the needs of over 16,000 low-literacy adult learners.

Roles: Requirements Analysis and User Research, Project Management Assistance, Content Research, Information Architecture, Usability Analysis, User Interface Design, Media Production, and Authorware Multimedia Authoring/Programming.
